Follow the steps below to activate your new card using either the People First Bank App or Online Banking. 

In the People First Bank App:

  1. Open the People First Bank App and select the 'Cards’ tab (next to Dashboard at the top of the screen).
  2. Swipe across to the card you want to activate.
  3. Click ‘Activate now’.

In Online Banking:

  1. Log in to Online Banking and select 'Self service’ from the menu bar, then ‘Manage cards’.
  2. Navigate to the card you want to activate and select ‘Manage’ to view the self-service options.
  3. Click ‘Activate card’.


Once you’ve done these three steps, follow the final prompts in the App or Online Banking to complete your card activation. Remember to sign the back of your card before using it.

If you need help, please call our Customer hub on 13 11 82 or visit your local branch. To complete card activation at a branch, you'll be asked to provide appropriate ID.

Yes, the account will be in the name of the child, but a parent/guardian can be added as a Third Party Operator to the account. For more information refer to our Opening Accounts for Minors brochure

Good choice! You can get started by having your Tax File Number and identification handy. 

To make switching easy, please provide us a list of all regular transactions from your previous financial institution. 

Alternatively, click here to complete the form, return to us and we'll obtain a list on your behalf. 

Once completed, simply give us a call on 13 11 82 or visit one of our branches. 

PayID is a way to make sending and receiving payments simpler. It allows you to link eligible bank accounts to more common information such as your mobile number or email address.

Your accounts will still have a BSB and Account Number, but you will be able to provide your PayID to receive payments without sharing your BSB and Account Number. You can also send money to others using their PayID.

If you have registered for Digital Banking at People First Bank, you can set up a scheduled transfer to make recurring payments on your loan.

Online Banking
Click on 'Transfer' under the 'Pay & transfer' tab, then click on the 'Schedule payment' and follow the prompts.

People First Bank App
Select ‘Payments’ on the bottom menu, then click ‘Pay & transfer’ and follow the prompts.

If transferring your payment from another financial institution, use the BSB 671 000, your loan account number and your surname for the account name.
