Reconciliation

Reconciliation aims to build deeper connections and understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, promoting mutual respect, empowerment and positive outcomes for all.

Reconciliation is built on commitment, understanding, and meaningful action. At People First Bank, our journey has been driven by the passion and dedication of our employees, who are committed to fostering stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

Through acknowledging our shared history, celebrating First Nations cultures, and taking intentional steps rooted in equality and respect, we aim to contribute to a brighter and more inclusive future for all Australians.

Our Artwork, New Beginnings

Designed by Eastern Arrernte Artist, Pat Caruso

This story is two-fold, in the way People First Bank is evolving as a new business and on our reconciliation journey.

People First Bank is centred on this composition, creating a safe space for people to come and learn, it also represents a safe space for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers to do their banking.

It illustrates the learning of the team and the active engagement to educate others around them.

Illustrated are direct pipelines for information and education to occur, starting at People First Bank and these will permeate throughout our organisation and the communities we support.

Watch Pat Caruso explain the meaning behind New Beginnings in his own words.
